The Ordinary’s 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is designed to lend your skin the hydration it deserves. Squalane – a saturated and stable hydrocarbon found naturally in the skin – is believed to have a very high emollience, making the solution an effective hydrator.
Suitable for all skin types, the formula works to leave complexions looking soft and supple. What’s more, it can even be applied to hair to support heat protection, add shine and minimise the potential risk of breakage.
Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments.

terrible for sensitive skin
I purchased the Squalene serum because I really like the cleanser with squalene so I thought I thought the plant derived squalene would work for my dry, sensitive skin .I also got drawn into the glowing reviews which claimed that it was a great product for sensitive skin. I have had a terrible experience today ,the minute I put on the product my skin instantly became inflamed and I had to wash it off . I am not impressed and will really analyse my purchases from this brand due to this horrible experience. Would not recommend this product to anyone. Very disappointed!

Good but slowly absorbing
As said in the title of this review, serum is good but slowly absorbed. It doesn't have and scent which I really love. Skin feels soft, but sometimes too fatty because of slow absorbing. I usually use it in the evening.

This particular oil really helped my skin when I damaged my barrier. I was showing all the signs; dehydrated, tight, flakey, dry & yet oily, breakouts, redness & extreme sensitivity. This protected, nourished & helped to retain moisture as the last step in my skincare routine. I have acne-prone skin at the best of times so I am very cautious of what I eat & put on my face... this does not break me out. 1-2 drops is more than enough. It is light with great spreadability & if it isn't absorbed within 10 minutes, you're either applying too much or not allowing the previous product you've applied to sink into your skin. Highly recommend for any skin type.

Retains mositure for dry skin without clogging pores

I use this both night and day depending on how dry my skin is feeling. It goes on top of everything at night, including retinols. By day, if I'm going to be wearing a lot of make-up I use this underneath to keep my skin hydrated. I don't break out with it at all (even when putting on layers and layers of SPF on top of this).

This (over time) gives you a gorgeous glow, evens skin tone and hydrates the skin. I have oily, acne prone skin and this works well for me. I tried Marula Oil from this brand and it broke me out. Just persist with it, after a few weeks your skin will adapt and thank you for it!
