The Ordinary’s 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is designed to lend your skin the hydration it deserves. Squalane – a saturated and stable hydrocarbon found naturally in the skin – is believed to have a very high emollience, making the solution an effective hydrator.
Suitable for all skin types, the formula works to leave complexions looking soft and supple. What’s more, it can even be applied to hair to support heat protection, add shine and minimise the potential risk of breakage.
Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments.

Great for skin, not for hair
I wear this at night after cleaning my face. The oil is quite thin and a little goes a long way. My skin is very dry and I have found that this oil really helps. I wouldn’t recommend it for wear during the day as it leaves an oily sheen on your skin after absorbing. Unfortunately it was dreadful in my hair. I experimented with a couple of drops in my very long thick hair and it made it look greasy and did not absorb.

I use it as a last step of my evening skin care and it works miracles to keep my face and neck hydrated and soft without sticky feeling. Absorbs quickly and has no smell. Amazing for winter!

Hydrated skin
I use this oil every evening after my serum, I haven't yet used it as a day moisturiser as it is quite oily. The oil soaks into the skin really well and when I wake up in the morning my skin is soft, plump and glowy. Perfect for the winter months!

Thin and moisturising
Definitely thinner than most oils. I have dry and sensitive skin so I need a ‘heavier oil’ but it has not reacted with my skin and is okay at moisturising. definitely makes my skin feel soft and supple though

I have finally (FINALLY!) found my ‘holy grail’ product. I have been suffering from breakouts and flaky patches for years. I recently went abroad and while I was away, with the different water, my skin cleared up a treat. Within 3 days of returning to the U.K. my skin was uncomfortable and flaky again. So I decided to give this stuff a go, not holding out much hope as it was so cheap and, like many people, my natural reaction is to assume cheap = rubbish. WRONG! Within a week my skin had looked better than it had in years!! I use it every night after cleansing, and it’s the only product I use at night now. No more nighttime routine of multiple serums/oils/creams etc. 1 product!!! I’m so glad I gave it a chance. My bank balance is very happy too!
