For pointed pencil shapes, gently push the tip former knob inward and downward to release the tip former.
For rounded pencil shapes, click tip former back in place.

Worth it
I used to be the person who would sharpen there pencil makeup products with a normal pencil sharpener, paying the price having to scoop out lip liner that got stuck in the blades. But with this shaper one smooth twist and my products look brand new! A very good purchase!
