In a daily-strength micro-dose, the serum releases a surge of pure retinol to help visibly soften the look of wrinkles. It also seeks to refine texture and firm the skin’s appearance, taking care to resist typical signs of discomfort associated with retinol use.
Infused with peptides and ceramides, the formula works to support cell turnover while strengthening barrier function. This product is suitable for first-time retinol users, helping to promote smooth, youthful-looking skin.
- After cleansing, apply Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum over the entire face at night time, including the under eye and crow’s feet area, carefully avoiding contact with the eye and eye lid area. Always use an SPF in the daytime.

Ouch!
I wanted to love this product as I'm a massive fan of their Ultra Rich Facial Cream, but I seem to have very little luck with retinol designed for beginners/sensitive skin. After a few days of use, the skin around my mouth has started to peel, and my entire face is burning/stinging. I'm not even able to apply makeup. I'm now hunting for skincare that can fix my skin barrier.

First time retinol user
Having come to the realisation that I seemed to have started aging rapidly and some extensive googling I came across the idea of incorporating retinol. This seems to be highly recommended across the internet for new users of retinol. This was my first Kiehls produce also. I started out by cleansing and moisturising as normal and then adding this on top (being wary of the retinol purges I’d heard about and having sensitive skin) I did this for a month and now skip the moisturiser and go straight to this - I don’t think I actually needed to be as cautious as I was. It’s been 3 months in total now and I believe I can see a difference, it’s not super dramatic but an improvement for sure. I will keep with it as I understand retinol takes 6 months to really see a difference. It’s been a great introduction to it especially for someone with sensitive skin.
