I've been using City Block SPF 40 pretty much daily for at least 10 years and I highly recommend it. My skin type is combination; I'm fair and freckly! It is a reasonably thick consistency (thicker than foundation) but it's very easy to apply - either with fingers or a brush - and blends in well. It's great as a primer but recently I've been wearing it without foundation - the tint is enough to add a little boost to my skin. It doesn't leave any kind of white residue and so far I haven't noticed looking washed out in any photographs! SPF is so important to protect your skin - this one is a really excellent option. I also have the SPF 25 which is great too, but I prefer the higher protection.

My favourite facial sun block
I love this product. It goes on easily, blends well and sits well under make-up. As it’s lightly tinted, it doesn’t leave a white residue. I’m on my third tube now and I also buy it for my teen daughter, she’s now a fan too.

Undetectable under makeup
I love this spf and it’s a great option for everyday use under makeup. I was drawn to the product by it’s “city” life claims and spf40 but a little put off by the tint and colour of the product, as I was worried that it would be too warm toned for me. However this is not the case at all. Do not be put off by the tint, it blends out into essentially a soft blurring effect with very little pigment and makes a great base for makeup. It’s also a great price for the quality and high spf content, will definitely purchase again.

Beautiful, lightweight SPF
Years ago I bought the SPF 25 from the same range and didn't know how to use this product. After Caroline Hirons recommended the SPF 40 I had to try it again - I wasn't disappointed! The product is really lightweight, thin in consistency (but not to the point where it is runny) and doesn't have a white cast - it is tinted. The reason why I didn't love the SPF 25 version originally was because I was not blending it in well but I learnt my lesson and now love the SPF 40! Highly recommend.

This product feels as though it’s going to be too greasy/thick for every day use when you first put it on, but once it settles into the skin (I’d wait about 10 mins before applying makeup) it’s actually a really good primer. My makeup stays on a lot longer whilst using this and still looks nice and glowy after a long day! Good price too, lasts you a long time!
